Sunday, January 31st, 2010

Employers who post jobs want to make their job advertisements attractive to prospective candidates. Most of the things that make a job ad attractive (such as bolding, colors, fonts, etc) require HTML knowledge, this can be difficult. That’s why Jobsberg.com recruitment site has a built in WYSIWYG editor to allow employers to easily make their job postings stand out.

Employers can add font types/colors, a background, bold/italics, bullets, numbered lists, and much more. This is a feature that all our employers love.

Social Bookmarking on Jobsberg.com

Sunday, January 31st, 2010

What is social bookmarking?

Social bookmarking is a method of sharing and organizing your bookmarks. It’s similar to bookmarking through your browser, only your bookmarks are public to others. This allows you to see other people’s bookmarks that have similar interests, and find new sites that you may have not known about before. This also allows other people to find your bookmarks which people can view and follow.

Benefits

Candidates can share a job they found interesting with a friend. They can post it in Facebook, or Twitter, or email, and easily show their friends a job that they found was a great fit. Employers will benefit from having their job positions being ‘virally’ shared throughout the internet and thus reaching wider audiences.

How does it work?

Every job posting has a ‘Share’ button allowing any visitor to publish the job details on over 40 social bookmarking sites!

Sunday, January 31st, 2010

Now that we have photo and video support for Jobsberg.com, it’s time to put them somewhere, right? That’s where our candidate profiles come in. Profiles have been added which allow candidates to have a custom profile URL like http://www.jobsberg.com/person/username.

What does it look like?

In addition to showing photos and videos in the profile, candidates profile information is available to employers. Educational history, work history, desired employment, and resumes are all shown on the profile page.

It’ll look something like this:

What about privacy?

We realize that privacy is a huge concern for you. Not all candidates want their name plastered all over the Internet, letting their current employer know they’re on there market. That’s why we implemented privacy settings.

Job seekers can choose to hide their:

  • Real names
  • Photos
  • Videos
  • Locations

Video Resumes on Jobsberg.com

Sunday, January 31st, 2010

Video resumes are catching on like wildfire. Jobsberg are ahead of the curve with a great new feature to allow video resumes to be included in your applications.

What are video resumes?

Video resumes provide job seekers a way to showcase their abilities through a video rather than the traditional resume. Since many households now have high quality webcams available, employers are starting to accept video resumes for many of their job ads. This allows people to put a face to the paper, and show off their personality and capabilities in a creative way.

How do they work?

Candidates can embed submit a video embed tag from any popular video sharing site (such as YouTube). This video then becomes embedded into you profile for employers to view when they are reviewing resumes.

This works great for two reasons. First, your hosting provider doesn’t need any special system requirements to convert the video to a file format that can be played through a Flash player. YouTube handles that part for you. Second, job seekers are likely to personalize their video resume for your site. The videos can lead to backlinks or your site being mentioned, providing a new traffic stream for you.

Google Maps Support in Jobsberg.com

Sunday, January 31st, 2010

Some boring job boards show you just the basic information on a particular job. The title, description, location, and other standard data is shown on almost every single job board. What separates your view job page from the rest? Not much. Until now, of course.

Add maps to your job listings

Jobsberg.com has a new feature to add Google Maps support to the view employer and view job pages. When site visitors view a job or an employer, they can easily see the job location on a map. This integrates directly with Google Maps, so it’s possible to see how far they’ll need to travel to a potential job, and a quick view of the surrounding area.

This feature is unique to our job script and will really set you apart! Here’s an example of what it looks like:
